Postdoctoral positions are available at the Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) of Universidad de Chile for the period Fall 2022-Spring 2023. Applicants are required to simultaneously apply to a research fellowship at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing at UC Berkeley as part of the CMM/Simons Berkeley joint fellowships.
The selected candidates will devote fully to research and can be associated to one of the following programs: “Data-Driven Decision Processes” and “Graph Limits and Processes on Networks: From Epidemics to Misinformation” in Fall 2022, and “Meta-Complexity” in Spring 2023. The details of these programs can be obtained in: https://simons.berkeley.edu/programs/current.
Candidates are expected to spend, before or after their participation at a Simons program, at least six months at CMM, although longer periods are encouraged. Details of these programs are found at https://simons.berkeley.edu/programs/current.
Applicants must hold a recent PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or related fields. Applications must be submitted through the Application Form on the CMM website not later than December 15, 2021 (but recommendation letters are accepted until December 31, 2021), to ensure full consideration. Applications consist of the following documents (in a single PDF file): a cover letter, a Curriculum Vitae (including a list of publications), a research statement, and the names of references with their e-mail addresses.
