Counterparts
From its inception, the Center for Mathematical Modeling has had the long-term support of both academic and industrial counterparts. In the first phase, our main academic counterparts, apart from the Department of Mathematical Engineering, were the University of Concepción and the National Center for Scientific Research – CNRS of France. Our initial industrial counterparts were Codelco, Chile’s leading copper company and major corporation, and Dassault Aviation of France.
In the second stage, other academic institutions at the national and international level were invited to associate with the Center through the participation in joint research projects and our Ph.D. programs.
The Center also envisions significant collaboration with local businesses building a business network. Members of this network have priority in the solution of their problems in mathematical modeling, access to seminars and training programs for their enterprises, and use of the computing facilities.
Scientific Network
We are the first CNRS associated Unit in mathematics out of France (known as International Research Laboratory IRL CNRS 2807)
