CMM–CNRS Chairs of Excellence for Young Researchers 2022 – CLOSED

The Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) of the University of Chile, IRL CNRS 2807, invites applications for two CMM–CNRS Chair of Excellence for Young Researchers positions. The positions have a duration of four years, and the starting date is flexible. A Ph.D. degree (obtained by the date of the appointment, but preferably not earlier than 2018) and evidence of excellence in research are required.

CMM is one of the leading mathematical research institutions in Latin America, developing both theoretical and applied lines of research (for more information, see https://www.cmm.uchile.cl). Successful candidates are expected to carry out independent high-level research in one of these lines.

The positions offer a competitive salary (CLP 3,000,0000 per month before taxes, at current rates equivalent to USD 3,700), excellent research facilities, an annual travel budget, and additional benefits related to the fact that the center is an International Research Laboratory of the CNRS. Teaching opportunities can be provided, but there are no teaching duties associated to the positions. Spanish language skills are not required.

CMM is committed to foster diversity at all levels. Applications from women and STEM minority candidates are strongly encouraged. Concrete measures to improve the work-life balance include access to maternal/paternal leave.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae (including a list of publications), and a research statement, using the Application Form below. Applicants should also arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be sent directly to cmmcnrschairs2022@cmm.uchile.cl.

Applications submitted by May 1st, 2022 will receive full consideration; later applications may still be considered.
