5th edition of the Mostly Maximum Principle takes place between June 24 and 28 at PUC-Rio, Brazil

For the first time in Latin America, the event brings together leading experts in Partial Derivative Equations.

For the first time in Latin America, the Mostly Maximum Principle will be held between June 24 and 28 in the Rio DataCentro auditorium at the Centre of Science and Technology (CTC) of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio. Boyan Sirakov, a professor in the Department of Mathematics at CTC/PUC-Rio, is a member of the organizing committee for the fifth edition of what is considered one of the main events in the area of Partial Derivative Equations. In addition to the CTC professor, the coordination has the support of important names such as Isabeau Birindelli and Giulio Galise, from La Sapienza (Italy), Gabrielle Nornberg, from the Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) – University of Chile, and Philippe Souplet, from Sorbonne University (France).

“I’m very proud that such an international event has made it this far across the Atlantic Ocean. I hope that our community of teachers and students will be able to take advantage of this experience, as well as external stakeholders. Everyone is invited to experience this important moment in mathematics here in Rio de Janeiro,” said Boyan Sirakov.

The conference will bring together a wide range of researchers interested in the study of elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations using techniques that find their roots in the Maximum Principle. The fifth edition will be held at the Centro Técnico Científico of PUC-Rio and will continue the debates started at the previous meetings: A key to fully-nonlinear equations (Vietri 2010) and Mostly Maximum Principle (Rome 2012, Agropoli 2015, Banff 2017 and Cortona 2022).
