Gloria Henríquez

Gloria Henríquez is researcher in the Center for Mathematical Modelling and adjunct professor in the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at Universidad de Chile. She obtained her degree in Medicine (2002), her degree in Electrical Engineering (2015), her Master of Engineering Sciences Mention in Electrical Engineering (2015) and her PhD in Engineering Sciences Mention in Automatic (2018), all from Universidad de Santiago de Chile, and her Master of Clinical Epidemiology from the Universidad de La Frontera (2020), Chile.
She has 16 years of experience in clinical care, in both the public and private health sectors. For four years, she led the innovation team, first as head and then as manager, at a multinational telemedicine company.
Since 2022, she has worked on research and technology transfer projects with a multidisciplinary team, developing artificial intelligence and automation tools applied mainly to health management and epidemiology problems.
She was awarded the 2024 Justicia Acuña Mena Prize, given to the female engineer who has distinguished herself in her profession.
She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Engineers of Chile and a member of the Health Commission of the Chilean College of Engineers.
