Biografía
He holds a PhD in Mathematical Sciences from Université Blaise Pascal, France (1987), a PhD in Engineering from Clermont University, France (1974), and a degree in Civil Engineering in Mathematics from the University of Chile (1971).
Throughout his distinguished academic career, he served as founding director of the Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) and of the Advanced Research Center in Education (CIAE), and later as founding rector of the University of O’Higgins (UOH). In recognition of his outstanding scientific and academic contributions, he was appointed Knight of the National Order of Merit of France in 1999.
