The Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) of the Universidad de Chile, CNRS UMI 2807, located at Santiago, Chile together with its network of associated universities opens 3 post-doctoral positions.
Candidates are expected to be highly motivated to contribute to some of the fundamental and/or applied research topics currently developed at CMM. Candidates should exhibit evidence of outstanding research and have received their Ph.D. degree in mathematics or related fields by the beginning of the appointment and preferably not before January 2017. Spanish language is not required.
Primary consideration will be given to candidates whose research record and interests is close to existing research lines developed at CMM and/or its associated universities (precise information is available at www.cmm.uchile.cl). In addition, our Center is committed to foster diversity within its community and encourages female candidates to apply.
Each position is intended to last one year, renewable up to one additional year subject to academic evaluation and availability of funds. The preferred starting date is May 2020. The monthly salary is $1.800.000 Chilean pesos (at present equivalent to USD 2,254) before taxes. Basic support for research activity is provided, which includes modest travel expenses. Additionally, government agencies run regularly research funding programs to which candidates are encouraged to apply.
