The Center for Mathematical Modeling (CMM) of the University of Chile invites applications for six postdoctoral positions, at least two of which are reserved for female applicants.

Ideal candidates should show outstanding research potential and have interests aligned with the theoretical lines of research present at CMM: Algorithms and Combinatorics, Mathematical Mechanics and Inverse Problems, Nonlinear Analysis and Partial Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis of PDEs, Optimization and Equilibrium, Probability and Ergodic Theory.
The positions are open to individuals who received their doctorate degree in 2020 or later (with exceptions for maternity leave and other special circumstances), or who expect to receive it by the starting date of the appointment. Spanish language skills are not required.
The starting date is flexible, but preferably not later than September 2025. The positions are research-focused positions and do not carry any teaching responsibilities (although teaching opportunities are available) and can be held either at the CMM’s base at the University of Chile in Santiago or at one of the associated Chilean universities. The gross monthly salary is $2,000,000 CLP. Additionally, CMM will cover travel expenses to Chile and, subject to evaluation, provide support for academic travel during the appointment.
The duration of each position is two years. In addition, during their time at CMM, the postdoc can apply for a 3-year FONDECYT postdoc scholarship by the government-funded agency ANID.
