Wrocław, September 7-11, 2026
The Chilean-Polish Mathematical Meeting is an initiative of the Polish Mathematical Society (PTM) organised in cooperation with the Sociedad de Matemática de Chile (SoMaChi), and will take place from September 7 to 11, 2026, in Wrocław, Poland.
The meeting is part of a tradition of joint mathematical meetings organised by societies bringing together mathematicians from different countries.
The Polish Mathematical Society actively pursues this strategy, as evidenced by previous meetings with mathematical societies from the United States (2007), Israel (2011), Germany (2014), Italy (2018) and Spain (2023).
The planned congress will cover all areas of pure and applied mathematics.

First Announcement
Dear Friends,
The Polish Mathematical Society announces that the Chilean-Polish Mathematical Meeting will be held in Wrocław on September 7-11, 2026.
The official website of the congress is available at https://somachi-ptm.pwr.edu.pl/ . The website is still under construction, so its appearance may slightly change over time.
As usual, the congress will feature lectures by the winners of the annual PTM awards, as well as eight plenary lectures, and at least 10 thematic sessions. It is still possible to submit proposals for additional sessions by pairs of organizers: one person from Poland + one person from South America, or one person from Chile + one person from Europe. A third organizer is also admitted.
The second day of the conference will be particularly festive. All lectures on that day will be held in the historic interiors of the Wrocław Opera House. The lectures will be given by the winners of two international competitions named after Czesław Ryll-Nardzewski, organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of this outstanding Wrocław mathematician. In addition, lectures will be given by the winner of the Chilean National Prize in Exact Sciences and the winner of the Banach Prize of the Polish Mathematical Society. The Opera House will also host a popular science lecture (online), a reception, and the celebrations on that day will be graced by a performance by Opera artists.
To date, we have received financial support from several Polish universities, and we are also making efforts to attract another sponsor from outside the academic community. Regardless of the success of these efforts, the conference fee is expected to not exceed PLN 1,500 (approx. USD 400 or 350 Euro). The fee covers coffee breaks, lunches, and the reception at the Opera. We are negotiating discounts for participants from universities that provide financial support for the conference.
We encourage you to register at https://somachi-ptm.pwr.edu.pl/. We also plan to offer an optional partial registration, covering only the ceremonial second day of the conference (Tuesday). The registration fee for this option will be approximately 400 PLN.
At this time, the registration form does not allow payment of the conference fee, which will be payable at a later date. Suggestions for hotels will also be posted on this website soon. We are working to obtain preferential rates for conference participants. In the next few weeks, you will receive a “Second Announcement” with more detailed information, which will also be posted on the conference website.
Please do not delay your registration.
