Intereses de Investigación

My main research interests are in the area of Nonlinear Mathematical Mechanics, Partial Differential Equations, in particular Navier-Stokes equations and Mathematical Fluid Dynamics. My studies encompass from fundamental theoretical aspects to applied research development, and they are focused on the mathematical analysis of systems governed by partial differential equations, which frequently occur in applied mathematics and engineering sciences.

Biografía

Throughout his career, he has received numerous distinctions for his outstanding contributions to mathematics and science. Among them are the Manuel Noriega Morales Award in Exact Sciences granted by the Organization of American States (OAS) in 1994, the Manuel Montt Award and the Presidential Chair in Sciences in 1996, and the title of Professeur Honoris Causa from the Université de Metz, France, in 1998. In 2001, he was elected Fellow of the Chilean Academy of Sciences. He later received the Chilean National Prize for Exact Sciences and the Andrés Bello Rectoral Medal from the University of Chile, both in 2003.
