Applied Research

The Center for Mathematical Modeling has defined six strategic areas on which it focuses its research: CMM Climate & Biodiversity, CMM Data Science, CMM Digital Health, CMM Digital Mining, CMM Education and CMM Networks. These areas bring together applied research developed in different CMM laboratories and initiatives.

Additionally, in order to provide the industrial, educational and public sectors in Chile with a modern computational infrastructure, the Center leads the National Laboratory for High Performance Computing (NLHPC) project. This national lab is a key element for the development of several applied research projects at the CMM and other centers throughout the country. The Center also hosts the Copernicus Chile technology platform and its satellite data repository, and ALeRCE, the astronomical data broker.
