CMM hosts international conference on Topological Phase Transitions

More than 60 international speakers participated in the workshop “The Topological Phase Transition and Localization of Random Fields,” devoted to presenting the latest advances in spin systems with continuous symmetry. Particular emphasis was placed on Berezinskii–Kosterlitz–Thouless (BKT)–type phase transitions and their relationship to localization and delocalization phenomena in integer-valued random fields.

From Chile to the World: Claudio Muñoz, CMM Researcher, Receives the Ramanujan Prize

Each year, the Ramanujan Prize ceremony becomes an occasion for the ICTP to celebrate mathematics. On 9 December 2025, the ICTP and the International Mathematical Union honoured the work of this year’s awardee, Prof. Claudio Muñoz, mathematician at the Centre for Mathematical Modelling (CMM) and faculty member at the University of Chile, who received the prize from ICTP Director Atish Dabholkar and IMU Secretary General Christoph Sorger.
